Vinnies Christmas Appeal

24 Nov 2023

Dear St Anthony's Preschool and Primary School Families,

For most of us, Christmas is a happy and exciting time. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, we attend mass and gather with our families and friends, often sharing a meal and exchanging gifts. We give thanks that we are able to gather with those we love over the Christmas season.

However, the unfortunate truth is that for many Australians, Christmas is a challenging time. Over 3.3 million Australians and 761 000 Australian children were living below the poverty line in 2022. Current data shows that this number is on the rise. As we prepare for our own Christmas celebrations, we keep these children and their families in our prayers. We can also support our local St Vincent de Paul Conference by donating items that they will put into hampers and deliver to those in our community that need it most.

During Weeks 8 & 9, we will be collecting specific items for these hampers. Please click on this link to view the items requested from Vinnies and send them in with your child/ren any time over the next two weeks.

We ask that all items be delivered by Friday the 8th of December (Week 9).

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Peace
Beth Lehmensich
Religious Education Coordinator

They have also loved exploring different art materials and techniques as they created their works.

Parents, Grandparents, Siblings, Aunties, Uncles and Friends are welcome to attend.

Entry is a gold coin donation – with all monies raised being donated to Vinnies Christmas Appeal.

Kenny Koala visit

20 Nov 2023

Dear ELC Families,

Kenny Koala is visiting us at the ELC this week. During his visit, the students will be taking part in the Stay OK in the community program. This program gives students tips for staying safe when they are not at home or preschool and strategies they can use if they get separated from family when out and about in the community. Kenny Koala’s visits are always lots of fun and I am sure the students will have a great time!

The Bilbies and Koalas will be visited by Kenny Koala on Tuesday and the Possums on Thursday. There is no cost involved for this incursion.

Kind regards,

Rebecca Mackay

Director
